What I like most is its enhanced features for protocol driver level protection. For example, hackers tend to perform network-wide port scan to locate vulnerable target machines. I close down port 80 (HTTP connection), port 20, 21 (FTP), and port 23 (Telenet) to protect my system from hackers. However, closing down computer ports are only recommended for experienced users.

5. Use Symantec Ghost:

I recommend using Symantec Ghost to take an image of your system and save it in a safe place. Symantec Ghost actually creates a virtual partition, or an image, on your hard drive, which could save you lots of time in case your system hangs or crashes. Simply use the Symantec restore program to restore the image back to your system partition. You can have a fresh and healthy OS within ten minutes. No more trips to technicians who tend to charge exorbitant prices for their services.
